Emilex Well, I guess I better clean my house since the Rapture isn't coming.
I gave Dare my address but I never got this? Is it still coming?
Emilex • 05-21-2011 15:44:20
Yeeeah, she texted me your address when I was out of town and I accidentally deleted it. So I need to get it from her again and I will ship it out this week. Sorry about that!
MelodyReverie • 05-21-2011 19:01:37
Emilex Farm Animal themed nursery/crib set. Includes dust ruffle, diaper holder, quilt and window valance. In very good condition.
Emilex Herb Crusted Pork Loin. Best thing I have made in a while, very easy and very delicious. Served with potatoes and a salad. YUM!
1 pork loin, 1 tbls sea salt, 1 tsp thyme, 1 tsp rosemary, 1 tsp basil, 1 tbls minced garlic, 2 tbls EVOO.
Emilex • 03-13-2011 20:44:22
Heat oven to 475. In a small bowl mix all ingredients except pork loin. Rub your pork loin all over with the mixture. Rub it good. Put it in a roasting pan on a rack.
Emilex • 03-13-2011 20:47:15
Put it in the oven for 30 minutes. Turn the oven down to 400. Continue cooking for 1 hour. Take your pork out and let it rest for 20 minutes. Slice into medallions and serve.
Emilex • 03-13-2011 20:47:21
Grubbin'! I have every intention of eating your cooking someday....
dalebert • 03-14-2011 21:51:18
Rub it, rub it good!
katydid • 03-15-2011 19:23:43
Do I get to go? He is a #1 Cool Dude!

Dale, you can if you fly to Wyoming, although I am sure he has a speaking engagement closer to you :) Jan, are you going?
Emilex • 03-15-2011 09:50:44
I wish I could go. I loved his book 3 cups of tea.
katydid • 03-15-2011 19:26:11
Emilex I'm pretty sure they wouldn't close anything here unless Yetis came down from the mountians and ate peoples faces off. In a blizzard.
How often does that happen?
plbuck • 02-25-2011 17:34:01
Ya, well people here are morons!
stratotrev • 02-25-2011 22:35:25
wow that sounds like a movie :)
Holloweaver • 03-01-2011 00:33:45
My peeps love lemon chicken drummies. However, tonight I am making different chicken drummies. We shall see how they go. they have 2 tbls real maple syrup, 1 tbls sesame oil, 2 tbls soy sauce and 6 organic chicken drumsticks.
Emilex • 02-23-2011 11:00:27
Put all ingredients in a zippie bag in the morning. Squish it around. Leave it in your fridge while you go about your day. At the end of the day, either grill the chicken drummies on the grill, or bake them at 375 for 45 minutes.
Emilex • 02-23-2011 11:01:27
That sounds yummy...let us know if it is good!
katydid • 02-23-2011 13:03:30
The marinade / sauce was awesome, the chicken drummies however were a bit short on meat. It would however be fabulous with tenders I think.
stratotrev • 02-23-2011 21:27:33
I do not like drummies unless they are grilled and kinda crispy. But this marinade was good. would also work well on salmon.
Emilex • 03-03-2011 16:21:47
I container raspberries, 1 container black berries, 1 container blue berries, and some strawberries, halved.
Emilex • 02-23-2011 10:58:34
Wash all berries and put in a dish. In a little bowl, whisk up 5 TBLS of local honey, 1 tsp of lemon juice and a little pile of poppy seeds. Add to berry mixture. Toss to coat. Serve.

it depends on what you want to do with it... maybe the Gimp is already good enough? i'm a daily photoshop user and my version came with the creative suit...
Holloweaver • 02-21-2011 02:12:51
i have no experience with elements but clients who want to make small adjustments i recommend the Gimp... it's free! http://www.gimp.org/ it has layers, brushes, lot's of users... :)
Holloweaver • 02-21-2011 02:12:58
I haven't used Elements myself, but my mom does. I'd agree with Hollow; most of what you'll find in Photoshop isn't necessary for most people. And GIMP suits a lot of people fine too, for free. What kind of stuff are you looking to do?
Brian • 02-21-2011 10:12:01
Photoshop does have more features than elements but if you are not going to do any major editing then I'm pretty sure elements will suffice. But then again there a lot of good and free alternatives to PS out there, like the one Holloweaver suggested.
Baoii • 02-21-2011 15:48:43
Paint.net is another free program I've heard of. And you could download a trial version of both PS and elements and see which one you'd prefer?
Baoii • 02-21-2011 15:48:53
I use Paint.net sometimes, it's a good tool for being free. I am not a professional photographer or graphic designer, but I do have a fairly nice camera (a Nikon D5000). I do sometimes get prints as big as 8x10 of pics to mat and frame.
Emilex • 02-21-2011 16:25:11
I guess I am just looking to see how creative I can get and more for the "art" aspect, for myself. I like to take pics and usually just give them away. I have never tried Gimp, I will check it out.
Emilex • 02-21-2011 16:26:48
Baoii, I know there is a free trial of elements, is there a free trial of full photoshop as well?
Emilex • 02-21-2011 16:27:12
If you're primarily interested in photo editing, I can't recommend Adobe Lightroom strongly enough. I haven't touched Photoshop since I got Lightroom. Probably more money than Elements, but not sure how feature rich you need.
Brian • 02-22-2011 23:27:47
Brian, for some reason I thought lightroom only operated with PS, like an add on. Is it stand alone? I have wondered what people thought of it, that's good to know.
Emilex • 02-23-2011 10:41:16
I Like! It looks like Summer, almost....
dalebert • 02-21-2011 00:28:23
It was pretty nice today dale
Emilex • 02-21-2011 00:53:50
These are GREAT photos! You have a good eye behind a lens.
CaptBellevue • 02-22-2011 11:57:43
Thanks CaptBellevue
Emilex • 02-22-2011 16:15:03
i like that first photo :) we don't see those overhere... only in movies...
Holloweaver • 02-21-2011 00:35:39
That's funny, they are a dime a dozen out here. I wanted to get a pic of an oil rig but never did. Saw hundreds of those too. :)
Emilex • 02-21-2011 00:55:34
Gotta love pictures of the High Plains! Great shots!
Brian • 02-21-2011 10:13:32
Thanks Brian!
Emilex • 02-21-2011 16:27:54
Obviously I figured it out. It's still doing some where stuff though. Giving me blank screens.
Emilex • 02-20-2011 22:22:09
thanks I will look into it
Dennis • 02-21-2011 08:56:40
When I go to "see more categories" and then I pick Photography from the list, it continues to show me a blank screen. I can change my ping to category "photography" but I cannot see the photography page.
Emilex • 02-21-2011 17:09:20
yeah...thanks it's bug we are working to fix
Dennis • 02-21-2011 18:33:38
I think we got it...let me know if you see any other blank screens. Thanks for pointing this out.
Dennis • 02-22-2011 09:51:50
no problem, will do
Emilex • 02-22-2011 16:15:25
Ok, now my ping about photoshop is missing. I'ts not on my profile page or on the photography page (which I can see now). People keep commenting but the only way I can access the ping is to go through my email alert.
Emilex • 02-23-2011 10:42:25
can you tell me what the ping url is. This would be in the browser when you navigate to it from an email alert?
Dennis • 02-23-2011 12:17:02
Emilex • 02-23-2011 14:09:16
we had to post it manually back to the category because it was skipped on the update that fixed the blank page issue. This was a big bug so thanks again for helping us to fix it.
